On August 27th 2010, Wired Magazine published an article titled, “The Web is Dead. Long Live the Internet.” In this article, authors Chris Anderson and Michael Wolf, detailed usage of the web has decreased but usage of the Internet continues to move along, but through other channels.
The web might be moribund, but its not dead – yet! In addition, according to Research 2 Guidance – one of the top mobile research firm, the Smartphone Application Market, is one of the fastest growing business model in the recent years. Increasing from 1.7 billion in 2009 to 2.2 billion in just the first half of 2010, it is estimated to reach 15 billion by 2013.
Because of the nature of mobile app development and the high cost associated with this process, in order to be competitive in this industry 3C Media LLC will establish a competitive edge by following strict development guidelines, which are often overlooked by the competition. Which are:
Concept:
Any mobile application is based on an idea, and any idea is based on an initial concept. The concept need not be complex, but it should have the potential to be developed into something either functional, entertaining, or both, and to fill a need or want.
Research:
Our development team is not composed of simple programmers. They know that the key to a successful project is carrying out the correct research, specific to the application being developed.
Mock-up:
Before starting any programming, our team starts ‘mocking-up’ the potential application, so the look and feel can be visualize, drawing concept diagrams and amalgamating all the research carried out.
Programming:
3C Media’s development team fully understands the programming language used on each particular mobile platform.
Testing:
Once an application is ready, detailed testing is conducted in order mitigate any bugs within the application. Furthermore group testing is also performed in order to receive feedback from standard users.
Release:
Once our development team and management team are satisfied with the application, and positive feedback has been received from the testing group, they application will be release to the appropriate mobile store.
By following these strict development guidelines we will save time and money developing application. Furthermore after the application has been release we expect to have fewer bugs, allowing us have a better ratting from end-user, than the competition.
